For twelve years, Dave taught English Language Arts for at-risk intermediate school students as well as for those junior highers performing below, at, and above their grade levels. He also taught AVID, GATE/Honors and Pathways writing. These twelve years were spent in the Santa Ana Unified School District. Prior to that he was a substitute educator in Paramount, Anaheim, Fullerton, and Santa Ana. He is presently retired from public education.
For
over 45 years, Dave has been in the public arena as a teacher. He has
had the opportunity to teach in many places around the world from Los
Angeles, CA to Baltimore, MD to the Philippines and Europe, and Alaska
to Africa. His venues are well-attended and he covers subjects like
Biblical studies and biology, culture and geography. The content of his
presentations evidence great presentation and are sprinkled with
practical application for learning. One unique opportunity that was a
highlight for him was to teach in a floating university where he taught
college-level courses like study skills, language acquisition, and
in-depth book studies. Additionally, he has twelve years of experience
teaching English and reading to junior high students and adults in
Southern California.
