This is just a few notes about the RICA. The next RICA examination is April 14 with a variety of RICA deadlines. The normal RICA registration deadline is March 9. There are two late or emergency RICA deadlines and those are March 29 and April 10. There are also a variety of RICA testing places near to where you live and those places will be given to you upon registration. The state RICA registration site is: http://www.rica.nesinc.com/.

The RICA, as you know, the Reading Instruction Competency Assessment and it is a required hoop for all fledgling California pre-teachers to jump through prior to the attainment of the multiple subject teaching credential. The RICA is a tough examination and you need to prepare well. One of the final steps you might use is my RICA preparation guide which is found on my web site.

There are other preparation guides available and you may find them on my RICA site.

Great care needs to be given to the RICA written content. You must know how to test and assess each RICA domain.
